Hi all,

Starting pregnancy yoga for the first time next week (it's my first ever experience of yoga at all!)

Anyone else do it and can give me some tips for my first class?

OP, I've been doing yoga for years before getting a positive test, I am now 6+2 and still continuing with yoga (with few adjustments). My main advice would be just relax and enjoy. The instructor will take you through everything. It's a great way to keep fit and re-centre and let go of the worries.

I've been going to pregnancy yoga and it really is very gentle - I really wouldn't worry that it's going to be difficult or anything. IME it's basically some gentle stretching and relaxation exercises..

That's just my experience of course, maybe other classes are different. I tried pregnancy Pilates before and that seemed more "technical" if that makes sense, lots of pelvic floor work etc.

The pregnancy yoga I attended was mostly sitting on the floor and waving our arms around. At the end we lay down under blankets while the instructor said relaxing things. It was exactly what I needed, tbh.

I wouldn't worry - I was really nervous about it but it was very relaxing. You don't have to do anything you are not comfortable with either.

I did 18 weeks of pregnancy yoga I loved it. I did my last session 2 weeks ago at 36 weeks as I was struggling but like pp said just relax and enjoy it :)
