Hi there, I'm 40 weeks pregnant and it is finally my due date! However I was at the midwife last week and they are bringing me in on Tuesday morning for a sweep, incaaw the sweep doesnt work they are going to book me in for a induction on Tuesday also... I am really impatient and dont know how much longer I can be pregnant I am so excited and grateful but so so sore! What is the longest induction date they can give me If my due date is the 9th?

Most areas 'allow' 12-14 days overdue but its actually up to you. You don't have to accept anything.
I really would advise waiting thought, induction is not a simple or pleasant process and once it starts there's not really any going back.
Ask your Midwife what percentage of induced women go on to have instrumental deliveries or caesarean births. That might give you a bit of perspective and help you hold on a bit longer!

Read up on induction. It can be more painful and intense than natural labour and there is a higher chance of stalling and intervention such as forceps or c section. Don't just accept it because you're impatient, ask questions and find out if it's the right choice for you and your baby.

I think experience of induction really varies. i had a good one - but it was my second child, and was well past due date so baby was probably ready plus I'd 'done it before'.

it is hard waiting in those later stages, but probably worth holding on to a) avoid induction and b) increase the chances of it going smoothly if you do have to have one...

good luck!
