Is cramping at 5 weeks normal?

So, all day I've had like period cramps at work and I've just been a nervous wreck.
I work in retail and was put on fill shift, so I started overthinking that I was doing to much or lifting things heavier than I should be?

We've tried for this baby a while now and I just cant stop overthinking

I had period like pains at around 5 weeks. I had an early scan to check if it was an ectopic pregnancy. Everything was fine and it was my ligaments stretching that were causing the pain. You most likely have nothing to worry about but book a doctors appointment if you are worried x

I had them up until week 11, sometimes so bad they woke me up or almost made me vomit. It's just your uterus stretching.

Congratulations! I had cramps around 5 weeks, was scanned too like a PP as they wanted to check it wasnt ectopic. Had some dull aches on and off since and some ligament pains (nearly 18 weeks now).

Good luck x

I had cramps for the first 7 weeks or so....as if I was about to come on my period.
Every time I went to the bathroom I expected to see blood (I didn't). Then I convinced myself it was ectopic (it wasn't)

I'm now 17+4

@sel2223 I've been doing the exact same thing! My partner keeps telling me I need to stop worrying and chill. I just find it so odd it's like period cramps, which gets me over thinking 🤣
Your reply has made me feel better though, knowing I'm not the only one Haha! Glad you had a good outcome to!

@Mmother17 the cramps at the beginning gave me horrible anxiety, worse first thing in a morning and after I’d eaten. It was just like period cramping. I’ve had a scan (due to previous mc) and it was all fine. The cramps have subsided now (7+4) just the odd one every now and again. The midwife said this was fine. Congratulations and good luck! X

But of course it's like period cramps, it's the exact same area, muscles and ligaments that are stretching and aching that are aching and cramping when you have a period.

Just another bit of reassurance for you - I am about 5 and a half week and have had consistent light cramping since I got my BFP over a week ago! It kind of feels like a burning/tugging sensation. In a way its reassuring me as I know my body is doing what it is supposed to Smile If the pain becomes sharp/severe or there is any bleeding that would be the time to get checked out but otherwise we should be good. I am so nervous and excited, just want to get to the 12 week mark to relax a bit...
