Feel like I can’t fully empty bladder 17 weeks

I’ve recently been told I have a UTI so I’m not sure if it’s related, I’m still on antibiotics but I’ve noticed that I feel like I can’t fully empty my bladder when having a wee. I’ve been going to the toilet loads cos of the UTI, but when I go it stops before I’m done and the second I stand up I feel like I still need a wee but I can’t go anymore!

Is this a symptom of the UTI or should I ring the docs again? Or could baby be lying on something? I’ve still got 4 days of antibiotics to take so not sure whether to wait if it sounds normal as I’m a worrier.

Definitely a symptom of a UTI , and if you've got antibiotics and aren't in too much pain, just keep taking the full course and it should ease off by then. If not - it's time to see the Dr again.
Saying that babies are amazing at sticking a hand, foot or bum into the bladder and it does sometimes feel like you'll wet yourself.
You won't mind though, you'll love knowing he/ she is in there getting comfy.

This happens to me all the time and i don't have a uti. I think the baby is putting pressure on my bladder.

When I was 16 weeks I thought I had a UTI as kept feeling like I needed to go but couldn't really wee. Turns out my uterus was blocking my bladder and I ended up in a&e in agony. A scan showed my bladder was full so I had to have a catheter for a couple of days but was fine after that. Apparently 16/17 weeks is a common time for this to happen so keep an eye on it. My GP fobbed me off annoyingly.

I’m 13 weeks and went in to total urine retention a few days ago, currently have a catheter and hoping to get it removed tomorrow Sad

I’d have a chat with your doctor incase it’s the start of something similar.

I'm 17+3 and had this for the last week or so (and not got a uti as far as I know).
I literally need the toilet constantly but when I go, very little comes out and I need it again as soon as I leave the bathroom.
So annoying!
I was wondering if baby could actually be pushing against my bladder at this stage?

I’ve had a similar experience although it’s not for every wee. I’m currently 17+3 and had a private sex scan today and although I couldn’t feel anything, we could clearly see baby (GIRL!Grin) leaning on and kicking my bladder.

When you’ve finished having a wee, lean forwards on the toilet seat and try again. Sometimes also helps to press into your bladder with your hand (just above your pubic bone).

It’s called the double voiding technique, it can help with incomplete bladder emptying

@Nelbert19 I've been trying this every time to the point I'm nearly face planting the floor 😂
