I'm 25 weeks pregnant and have struggled with the worst GERD and heartburn this whole pregnancy so far. I was put on omeprazole at 12 weeks after my sick had streaks of bright red blood in and they helped control it to an extent. I was taken off omeprazole 2 weeks ago because I'm aneamic and needed to start iron supplements and omeprazole stops the iron being absorbed properly but yesterday the heartburn was so bad it made me feel so sick and when I was sick in the evening it had bright red blood in it again 😔 my doctor said last time it happened that it was because of my throat being burnt by this acid that's constantly coming up into my mouth or by straining whilst being sick and bursting a vessel.
Does anyone else struggle with this? I could do with talking to other people going through the same thing. I feel so unwell with it.
