Anterior placenta movements

Hi everyone,

Just wondering when those of you with an anterior placenta first felt your babies move?

I'm 19+3 and still don't think I've felt him yet! Should I be concerned? Or is this completely normal?

Thanks 😊

Hi. This is my 3rd baby, I have an anterior placenta and didn't feel him move till 22+2. He's been moving every day since. 28+4 now.

I have anterior placenta and was feeling flutters at 16 weeks (2nd child). Completely wasn't expecting to feel anything until much later! Currently 37 weeks and movements are very painful now!

lustforlife · 07/03/2020 22:28

I felt the first movement (very light kicks) at 20 weeks Smile

I have anterior placenta... was feeling movements since 17 weeks and then from 19 weeks strong kicks. Now he's kicking constantly. The anterior placenta is very high up so all my kicks are around belly button or low down.

Congratz xx

Thanks everyone! Definitely reassuring to know I'm not the only one who hasn't felt anything at this stage 😊

I felt a few little flutters the day of my 20 week scan. I'm now 21 weeks but still don't feel a lot of movement. Looking forward to feeling a bit more in the next few weeks!

BathshebasBane · 08/03/2020 08:13

Ds2 around 21/22 weeks but my placenta covered the whole front of my bump

Dd 18/19 weeks but always central or low as my placenta was high anterior.

Did they tell you where it's positioned? I found it helpful to know

Byets · 08/03/2020 08:17

@BathshebasBane they told me that it's central anterior so I'm guessing maybe the worst place to feel any movements?!😩🤣

Hey OP I've also been fretting about this!! I'll be 24 weeks on Weds and it's only in the last week and a bit that I've had definite movements, really at the latest of when they say you should expect!!

It's my first baby and scans have said anterior placenta.

The past week though movements have been getting stronger and stronger every day, my DP felt something through my tummy yesterday morning which was wonderful! It's really an amazing feeling and I'm looking forward to it developing more and more.

Please don't worry, going by this thread we're definitely within the realms of normal!

BathshebasBane · 08/03/2020 08:26

@byets that sounds like my DS2. It wasn't great for deleing movement but everyone's different so hopefully you'll still have lots of lovely strong kicks. It also depend on baby position my DS2 went head down back to back early on so all his kicks were focused on my central region but if baby is in other places you might get lots of lovely High or low or to the side movements

Anterior placenta and I’m 19+5.. haven’t felt anything yet 😊

MrsJKK · 08/03/2020 10:27

I didn’t have regular movements until 25 weeks with anterior placenta, midwife didn’t seen concerned. First movements which I could definitely define as baby (it’s my first) were about 22 weeks

Christmastree43 · 08/03/2020 12:50

It also reassured me that at 12 and 20 week scans the baby was moving like crazy, at 20 week scan crossing and stretching legs, yawning etc, moving arms and legs, and I could feel nothing so I do know it is moving its just that I can't feel anything!

MrsJaneyp · 08/03/2020 18:17

Hi I'm 21+1 and have an anterior placenta. Haven't had any movements yet either
The midwife said 22-24 weeks as it's also my first baby too
It's awful isn't it not being able to feel the baby yet.
It would ease my anxiety if I could
