Are any other mothers experiencing this ? I had my baby over 11 month ago but I have still not gotten my period.

Are you breastfeeding/using any contraception?

Missnana · 07/03/2020 20:33

Breastfeeding can delay them
Are you using contraception?

LittleBearPad · 07/03/2020 20:37

Lucky you. Mine came back at 6 weeks. I was livid.

Don’t rely on their lack of appearance for contraceptive purposes.

Unless you’re already pregnant...

I didn’t get my periods back till ds was over a year old. Was also breastfeeding.

Tinty · 07/03/2020 20:39

I didn’t get my period back for 14 mths while I was breast feeding but they had never been consistent before.

Mamabear2020 · 07/03/2020 20:53

Yeah itll be the breastfeeding. I found out I was pregnant again when my LB was 11 months old and was really surprised as I'd not had a period since he was born!

I'd enjoy it!

Bf and contraception, I was in same boat.

Missnana · 07/03/2020 22:38

Wow. Thank you all for sharing. I am currently not on any contraception. I thought you wouldn't ovulate while breastfeeding but I guess I was wrong 🙈. Hmmm so when you are not on your period, how will you know when you are ovulating? To check for your safe period?

You can only use breastfeeding as contraception for the first 6 months. Have you been having unprotected sex? Could you be pregnant?

17 months here and still no period

Missnana · 07/03/2020 23:10

@dimentedpixie thank you for the link. Was very helpful. I have a stash of pregnancy tests and I check every other month after 6 months. I am def not pregnant but I just didn't know mothers could go over 6 months without a period when they are breastfeeding.

If youve gone this long without a period its likely that you will ovulate prior to getting your first period. This could happen at any time between now and periods returning. If you dont want to become pregnant again, I'd suggest you begin using contraception now.

Missnana · 08/03/2020 22:03

@Mamabear2020 I will take your advice. Thank you. Been feeling period like cramps so I think you are right! I might have started ovulating and probably don't even know it.
