First trimester - what are you snacking on?

I’m 8 weeks and need to eat every couple of hours it seems to stop feeling terrible and really nauseas. But also knackered so am not thinking ahead enough in terms of what to bring to work to eat during the day - please help me stop eating biscuits and creme eggs!

What were / are your go to snacks during pregnancy?

Fruit seemed to help me and stopped me eating so much rubbish. I did also eat a lot of ritz biscuits though, particularly when I woke up with bad sickness during the night! Banana first thing when I woke up before I even got out of bed (had it beside my bed ready) helped me avoid being sick when I got up in the morning.

I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes 3 months ago (I'm now 36+3) so I have had to be strict with my go to snacks;

  • crackers
  • fruit
  • sugar free biscuits
  • sugar free yoghurt
  • cheese
  • popcorn
  • nuts

I also feel less sick when snacking. I’ve had nuts, ritz and biscuits and mints. I do limit myself to one biscuit rather than eating loads because they’re there because I’m conscious of over eating. Although I notice I do just eat less naturally at meal times.

There are some really nice crackers which are salt and pepper flavour which I keep in my bag. I also have packs of sweets for survival and keep yogurts at work and at home.

Ham sandwiches are the only thing that stops the nausea for me. The idea of any food makes me heave though. Even my trusty sandwiches so I have to eat without thinking about it 🙈
