Pulled muscle on bump?

I'm 39+2. I feel like I might have pulled a muscle to the right of my belly button. My bump is now really tight and painful. It's painful to move or drive.
Has anyone any experience of this? I don't think it's contractions or tightenings because the pain is constant

You poor thing, that sounds very sore and horrible.
Ive got a similar thing going on in my back which is taking what seems like forever to heal.
Get plenty of rest incase you make it worse Flowers

Also I think you should call a mw just incase with it being on your bump

Is it round ligament pain? I had a lot of that when pregnant

hopeful31 · 07/03/2020 19:39

Thanks for you replies. @Delbelleber I didnt phone my mw, I always fear of being a drama queen. But I might give her a call tomorrow if it hasn't eased. I'm sure that you are in a lot of pain with your back.

I suppose it could be round ligament pain @Knocksomesense . I'll read up on that now and see if there are some recommendations for relief. Thank you 😊

I was in triage for this a couple of nights ago. Believe me, they didn’t think I was a drama queen - they would much rather you go in and be checked.

Please do get checked as it could be a sign of some blood behind the placenta if your bump is hard and not softening alongside constant pain - it’s one of the things I got told to go straight back for without calling. It’s probably not this and probably is ligaments or a muscle or a nerve, but they are there to check that it’s a harmless pain and nothing to worry about xx

Thanks @Keyboard91 i just called them and they said to take 2 paracetamol, and if it doesn't ease within an hour to go to hospital.

@hopeful31 glad you called. Hopefully it’s nothing to worry about, but it’s always worth calling just in case. Midwives would always rather see you and check it’s nothing to worry about and that you are both safe and healthy.

Let us know how you get on xx

Just an update. I went to get checked today because I still had the pain when I woke, and I'm 3cms dilated. So it was a mixture of strained muscle and labour pains

My contractions felt like muscle pain. It’s why it took me too long to realise I was in labour. Speak to your mw

Very exciting @hopeful31
