Hi ladies have any of you had scans between the 12 week and 20 week whether NHS or private. Due to 4 previous miscarriages 1 MC and 3 MMC I have already had a couple of early scans aswell as my NHS 12 week one as normal but as I have gone through what I have I was put under my hospitals recurrent miscarriage clinic so they have also offered me another scan at 17 weeks which I will be next week. What I'm wondering is how well would they check the baby at this scan and would they pick up on (I'm praying and hoping that everything will be fine) anything and tell you if they see something or would it be just a general look over and they will leave it up to the sonogropher at the 20 week scan as I know that's when they look at everything in more detail.

We had a private gender scan between 16-17 weeks. I was actually really impressed as she seemed to look at everything they do during the 20 week scan as well as the sex. She was really thorough. We also got to take my kids (11 & 12) which we couldn’t have to the nhs one and it was lovely for them. Would recommend.

@Jamsponge thank you for your reply. Mine will be an NHS not a private one due to the miscarriages so just wondering if anyone else has had one and how thorough they are.

I had a scan last week at 16+5 which was so thorough and reassuring but it was private not nhs.
Here's a pic just to give you an idea of what you might see x
