Insomnia and worried about first scan HELP

Hi ladies, is it normal to be really anxious about the first scan, I'm 11 weeks and my scan is next week but I am terrified something will be wrong. I haven't had any sickness and I only get nausea and a headache if I don't eat every 4/5 hours. I'm not letting myself get excited as I don't want to be devastated if something is wrong. I've been awake since 4am with everything going round in my head. Am I crazy or is this normal?

Completely normal. It will be the same before the next scan too, then you’ll be worrying about movement, then birth, then SIDS. The worry basically never stops and nothing anyone can say or do will change it.

You just have to accept it.

Congratulations. I had no symptoms until 12 weeks with my pregnancy, everyone is different. My sickness only involved toothbrushes but went on almost until the end!

Yes, completely normal. I had a mmc last year which I found out at a scan so I now have huge scanxiety to the point where I had a full blown panic attack before one. I'm 12+3 now and have my dating scan next week and even though I had a scan at 10+3 I'm still petrified. Before the 10 weeks one I was up in the night every night driving myself mad with stress and it just isn't good for you or the baby. Give yourself 5 minutes to acknowledge your fears then have a drink of water and allow yourself to relax.
