Advice is wait until 36 weeks + as it can cause contractions.

han01uk · 06/03/2020 20:11

Wait. Unless you're leaking loads. But nipple stimulation can encourage labour.

I've only just started doing this today at 39w. Don't think it's advised that early on! Best to check in with your midwife before doing anything

afternoontwee · 06/03/2020 22:03

I was told 36 weeks onwards only and only if you’re looking at a straightforward delivery. I had placenta praevia so was told not to do it unless the placenta moved as if I went into spontaneous labour it could be dangerous (luckily it moved in time).

I have gestational diabetes and was told not to start before 37 weeks as that's when you're considered term, in case it triggers labour.
6 months it's crazy early, don't do it.

If you're leaking and want to collect it you can get collection shells

They just sit in your bra instead of a breast pad
