Possibly a migraine as I feel so sick with it. I've had it all day - took 1g paracetamol at half 10, another 1g at half 2ish and nothing since. It's making me feel so ill.

What else can I do? I've got a 4head stick which I'm using and gives a little short-term relief.

I'd normally take some ibuprofen or 600mg aspirin but I know I can't.

I've had two losses before this pregnancy so am terrified Sad

Hi there, I had horrific headaches during my first trimester and also heir thinking the worst after 3 losses but all was fine.

I find tiger balm helps, along with a really cold flannel on my forehead and gallons of water, hope it eases soo , low still as much as poss, congratulations!!

Op I feel for you. I suffered with migraines while pregnant.

Lots of water, no caffeine and plenty of sleep.

Congrats on your pregnancy

I had codeine prescribed for headache in pregnancy previously. It’s horrible isn’t it. I think it can often be caused by hormonal changes.

And differently to the PP, caffeine always helps with headaches for me, even though I normally only have one or two cups of tea a day. A can of coke helps me often.

Thanks everyone. I took some more paracetamol around 10pm and went to sleep. Woke up at 2am and it had gone!

I'd had some Diet Coke thinking it could be caffeine related as I'm just allowing myself one cup of tea a day.

Interesting PP said about codeine. I may ask the midwife about that when I see her next as they are awful and hinder me looking after 3 yr old DS.

Hi Op,

From weeks 10-13 I had headaches every single day and it was miserable . My sickness stopped at 10 weeks and I was feeling great and then the headaches started , along with nose bleeds ! Work eventually told me to call my Midwife for advise and she said it’s very common due to hormones and Increased blood flow and she said her best advise is double your water intake and try and eat fruit as that’s got water in too, and try and stay away from coke (i has been drinking some coke , not a lot but about two bottles a week) she said that can trigger . Hope you’re ok x

@caffeinefix
Ive been suffering with pregnancy migraines/headaches. I spoke with my midwife as she said it could be down to restricting caffine. I know have 2/3 cups a day all containing caffeine. I find if i have caffeine in the 1st drink of the day it helps. When I get a migraine i have 2 paracetamol a migraine forehead strip and a coffee with caffeine and it helps x

I'm now 16 and from about 6-7 weeks I had constant headaches ending in a 10 day long migraine (I've pick migraines so hard to medicate) that stopped over a week ago and since then I've had the odd little niggle but nothing major so hoping it has passed. Hang in there I know it's hard but fingers crossed it will pass for you soon too. Regarding caffeine I tried stopping, reducing and a few cups a day and nothing at all made a different so it wasn't caffeine related for me x

16 weeks*

ronswansonstache · 08/03/2020 17:39

I had this a couple of weeks ago at about 9wks. Absolutely horrible. Have you tried the 4Head migraine strips? They are cooling strips you stick onto the forehead and numb the pain. They're much more effective than the little 4Head sticks.

I've bought a job lot of them off amazon in case the headaches come back!

puds11 · 08/03/2020 17:42

I had horrendous headaches for the first trimester and some of the second. I think I wasn’t drinking enough to be honest, but they were awful!

caffeinefix · 09/03/2020 08:58

Hello again everyone

Thanks so much for all the advice. I will get some of those 4Head strips - they sound a great shout.

Caffeine helped in the short-term but I think it was a migraine as I only have one cup of tea a day and have been coping ok so far.

This baby is already causing havoc Wink
