Any midwives out there today?
My friend is due to travel to a country where the virus has appeared, but isn’t on the list of countries we shouldn’t be visiting. Her daughter is about to give birth. As a midwife, what advice have you been instructed to give new parents about whether granny should be allowed to visit baby on her return, even if showing no symptoms at all?
Out if interest, the NHS 111 helpline says no need to self isolate unless you’ve been in close contact with someone known to be infected, or visited a health facility in that country.
