hello,

I was wondering if anyone else had this. It's only moderately distracting at the moment (and the scalp is probably due to stopping psoriasis treatment...). But I googled (I know, DO NOT GOOGLE but it's impossible not to) and it says it can be a warning for liver issues and high bile levels?

Did anyone have this this early and is there any change I can make to my diet/lifestyle etc?

@CrabApple00 Hi Op! 😊

Had that liver condition with my first son it usually appears towards the end of the second beginning of third trimester... please speak to your midwife about the itching so they can refer you for blood tests to check your liver and bile levels.

I was on medication through out the end of my pregnancy and had to be induced early because there is a slight risk of still birth... I'm also under consultancy care for this pregnancy because I have an 80-90% chance of getting the condition again.

Hope that's helped make sure you either ring your GP or midwife they should be able to advice further.

Happy and healthy pregnancy xx

Hi there,

Thank you! I have an Ob-Gyn appointment next week so I'll ask them then what tests I need and get them done. This will be my first baby and I'm so worried that anything wrong with my body will cause MC because my body will seem hostile to the little bean...just trying not to worry about everything!

@CrabApple00 I absolutely understand it's such a fragile time the first trimester constantly worrying about everything... if you ever have any concerns about it make sure you talk to your health care provider... good luck!

Thank you Flowers

I had so much itching in the 1st trimester! And then it suddenly stopped. I did ask a few of my friends who had been pregnant who all said they had the same issue. X

CrabApple00 · 06/03/2020 14:15

@Laurabry I'm glad it's not just me (and it might go away)...I must look feral, sitting, scratching away on public transport...but I just can't help it! Going to try apple cider vinegar as a rinse for my scalp at least!

I have had this since my first trimester (now in third) and it was pregnancy dermatitis as opposed to any liver problems. I think hormones were blamed....
I would see your GP and get some cream etc to help.
