Hi ladies!

So at 4:30am I woke up to trickling luckily I had a pad on and in less than an hour I filled two pads and the first now has a slight pink tinge to it.

How long did it take till labour started to kick in for you and what did you do during that time?

Excited baby is nearly here :)

How exciting Thanks
3rd baby was my only one where waters went naturally. I woke to a big gush that never stopped trickling! Contractions started about an hour later!
Good luck

Skierrdery · 06/03/2020 06:19

And I meant that I'd caught a live birth thread lol. Sorry if you thought it meant something else.

HelloOverHere · 06/03/2020 06:23

@Skierrdery hahaha I kinda knew what you meant

@JurassicShay so after an hour contractions started ... when did you meet baby?

Ah how exciting, my waters started to go like that at just after midnight, contractions started at 2am, waters went fully at 4.30am and my DD was born at 7.17am. Good luck, hope it all gets going soon for you :)

JurassicShay · 06/03/2020 06:27

@HelloOverHere my baby was born 6 hours after my waters went. He was my 3rd and longest labour!

MrFlibblesEyes · 06/03/2020 06:31

My waters went at 6am on a Sunday and ds was born at 12.13 in the afternoon on the monday.... Try to get some sleep now if you can before things ramp up just incase you're in it for the long haul! Good luck!

MinesaPinotPlease · 06/03/2020 06:33

I live overseas so it is maybe different but here once your waters go you are admitted due to the risk of infection.

Not sure how is works in the UK (presuming you are there) but maybe worth giving them a call?

Mine went at 2.00 am on the Friday - ds born at 4.30 pm on the Saturday 😱

Eropsawlkasd23455 · 06/03/2020 06:34

My waters with my first went slowly all day on a Sunday, contractions started PM and he arrived the next day.

Eropsawlkasd23455 · 06/03/2020 06:34

Good luck!

BatleyTownswomensGuild · 06/03/2020 06:39

My waters went bang on midnight, my contractions started within an hour and DS was born at 1pm.

Eeyoresstickhouse · 06/03/2020 06:45

My waters started trickling at 7am. Baby was here by 4.45. Only 1 hour 42 of active labour.

Mummyme87 · 06/03/2020 06:49

MinesaPinotPlease in uk we wait for 24hours to allow for active labour, if nothing then induce labour. Only time you come to hospital is to confirm waters have broken and make a plan for what happens if labour doesn’t start

BikeRunSki · 06/03/2020 06:53

7 hours from waters breaking to 10cm dilation both times for me. Contractions started as soon as waters went, both pg ended in emcs for different reasons.

strawbmilk · 06/03/2020 06:54

Trickle of water 9am Tuesday
Contractions started 4am Wednesday
Waters fully went 7pm Wednesday
Baby born 4pm Thursday

Hope your baby is much quicker! Good luck!

Waters broke at midnight, went to hospital at 2am, was sent home with “it’s your first it might take 12/24h..”..had contractions already on way back from hospital..they were getting stronger, like every 5min so called them and was told ‘Try to have a nap..seriously ’..at 6am had them every 3min and lasted around 45sec..so went back to hospital..was told I was only 1cm so they’d let me stay for a bit and was told they might send me home as it might take very long time..wouldn’t give me a gas or anything else for pain. Went from 1cm to 10cm in 2.5h , to their shock, when I was screaming that the baby is coming out..so it can happen very quickly..if it’s your first, don’t let them push you around with “first one takes ages”..good luck x

AluminumMonster · 06/03/2020 09:33

I had to be induced after my waters broke to prevent risk of infection. Exciting times, there's nothing like seeing your baby for first time.
