Contractions without back pain

Morning all,

Has anyone had contractions without the back pain? I woke up about an hour ago to a huge tightening/tummy pain, lasting from 30-60 seconds every 4 mins or so, but haven't got any back pain at all! Not sure if it's just really bad Braxton hicks (which I've had throughout my pregnancy and definitely doesn't feel the same) or whether this could be something 🙄 40+5 today. Thank you!

My contractions were all at the front, like bad period pains. I never felt anything in my back 😊

I’ve never had back pain and I’ve had 5 births. I thought you got lots of pain in your back if the baby was facing the wrong way round.
Front tightening are good, and I’d guess they are contractions. Are they painful?

@Ozziewozzie yes they are, nothing excruciating but definitely know they're happening! Would be amazing if this was it!! Just have heard so many stop start stories. Fingers crossed 🤗 as annoying as it is when waters break first potentially leading to an induction/monitoring, at least you know then that pains associated are probably contractions!

I had nothing in my back but got pain down the front of my thighs.

Good luck! Sounds like you might have the baby today!
