A lot of people pay for additional and reassurance scans, it is nice you get to see your baby so much so early.

Wow, that's a lot! I'm surprised they managed to bugger up your 12 week scan date given your 2 earlier scans which I'm assuming could've been used to date for pregnancy? Such a waste of funds/time on their part!

Our trust was so backed up when I had my eldest (now 14) that my first scan was at 17 weeks and 5 days 😲

@yatapina scans in early pregnancy aren’t very accurate for dating as they’re measuring something just a few mm in size therefore there’s a much greater margin for error. That’s why they don’t date pregnancies until 12 weeks. It doesn’t necessarily mean they “buggered up”.

Ah I see @Darkstar4855, I'm not particularly clued up on these things.

I've never had an early scan personally but I know people who have due to being high risk and they seem to have had dates from them.

I has 4 scans by 13 weeks! 2 more since then, am 21 weeks, and another 2 booked for 32 and 36 weeks! Unless anymore get booked I will have 8 in total. With my daughter I just had the standard 2! X

My previous pregnancy my 12w scan ended up being only 11w 1d, so they got me to go back a week later. Made that week seem like groundhog day, but was nice to get a cheeky extra scan in x
