II went for my 8 week booking in appointment on Monday the midwife said I would receive a letter for my 12 week scan in the post in the next week or so. I've got home today and have a letter to see a consultant at the Obstetrics ante natal clinic. It says I may have a medical examination and to take a urine sample. Then underneath mentions a scan it says when I'm there I may have a scan. I'm confused what this appointment is for can anyone help me? I thought I would just be getting an appointment for a scan but this letter doesn't sound like it.

My letter sounds exactly like yours, it just says outpatient appointment at obstetrics no mention of scan and ut has the urine sample bit. I think that's just the generic way they word it. I know mine is a scan then an appointment with the consultant and I know I have to get bloods at they couldnt take at my booking appointment.

@Quiffy yes it just says I may have a scan. I will phone them tomorrow.

Do you know why the midwife placed you under consultant care?

All I can think is I had a cesarean with my son then a normal delivery for my daughter she said I'm classed as a risk because I've had previous cesarean even though I didn't the second time round? So could it be that?

I have spoken to the hospital and it is for my 12 week scan.
