I'm not sure if this should go into travel or pregnancy so sorry!!

But, has anybody found an insurance policy that will cover them at 33 weeks? I'll be flying from the UK to Spain for 4 days sat on my bum with my mum. It was booked pre-pregnancy!

mamatob travel insurance covers you until you are 36 weeks pregnant x

Admiral travel insurance does I think. However, it is not pregnancy specific insurance so only covers complications not normal birth.

@sleepismysuperpower1 that's perfect, thank you, I knew there must've been a specific company.

I've read so many policy wordings and they all cover to 32 weeks which's is a pain. My premium (me and husband) has gone up from £49 to £201 with MamaToB Confused but it's the peace of mind

Hey, I'm also flying UK to Spainat 35+5, and the EHIC card covers normal labour which I have. I then have additional insurance to cover pregnancy related emergency as EHIC will only cover normal labour but might be worth looking into. From what I gather, it's very similar to how the NHS works.

Babyshine2020 · 04/03/2020 21:13

@Ree91 I didn't think these were even a thing anymore. I had one year's ago (10+ years) but we've always bought annual insurance so they became redundant. I'll see what it covers though. Insurance would get baby back to the UK and I'm not sure an EHIC would (being presumptions with it being a medical card)

I've just checked though and I could renew my current annual which would cover us on our trip at 26 weeks and then just buy the mama policy for £13 for the 4 day Spain trip!

Following as hoping for a quick week to France in May pre baby arriving, will be 35+4

I had annual travel insurance, travelled at 26 weeks and phoned to inform them of my pregnancy and they basically said it isnt taken into account at all unless your over 36 weeks (?) At which point you usually cant fly anyway Smile
I think it's to do with discrimination ! That was with zurich insurance!

Babyshine2020 · 05/03/2020 07:38

Thanks @secretllama most I've read stop covering labour at 32 weeks and I literally fly the first day of my 33rd week!

I'll check them out after work tonight
