38+5.... impatiently waiting

38w+5 today.... had the lightening feeling of baby dropping the other day, it actually felt quite noticeable in that I had bad groin pain that night and then when I woke up it was like a ball between my legs!

Increased discharge since around Thursday, I did wonder if it was the plug coming away in smaller bits but now I'm thinking it probably wasn't....

The last 2 days I've had really bad nausea, haven't suffered any type of nausea since the very beginning when I found out, don't know if it's just nerves from waiting around!

Any one else at the same stage? How are you feeling ?

I'm 37+5... ive had increased discharge the last couple days...
ended up in a&e yesterday as was suffering from bad palpitations so they monitored me for a few hours and everything was fine. I think it was all nerves!
Due to have a csection 2 weeks today and just really anxious about it all!
Feeling slightly uncomfortable now 😢

nicannie · 04/03/2020 11:23

@sjmco oh no hang on in there not long to go now! Good luck with the scheduled section. I'm really hoping I go naturally and without emergency section as the thought of that really scares me unfortunately! Xx

My first was an emergency section that's why I'm having a planned one now. Although I've had a csection before still bit scared about the whole thing... is this your first baby?

nicannie · 04/03/2020 11:52

@sjmco I really hope I don't end up in that situation, although I'm fully thinking worst case that it will so that if it does I can cope and will be in the frame of mind to get through it, on the other hand I'm just hoping it won't and doesn't go that way. Yes, first baby!

I’m 38 weeks and sooo ready for the baby to come. Also got increased discharge (nice) and have had period pains for about the last 5 days.

Any little twinge I’m wondering if this is the start but nothing so far

Have either of you tried hypnobirthing? It has made me an awful lot more relaxed about the whole thing

nicannie · 04/03/2020 12:31

@ShirleyPhallus not long to go! I'm having a lot of strange twinges down there if you get me the last 2 days 😂😂

Haven't been to any classes but read a lot about it. I'm quite relaxed about going into labour etc, I'm just not relaxed at the thought of emergency c section, I say I'm not relaxed about it - I am I just really don't want it 😂

37+5 and also increased discharge - so much so I went out to buy some panty liners today. Its not the plug though, its creamy and white, but theres just so much of it!

Some period like pains, and the baby feels like he's trying to dig through my cervix with lighting pains. Thats about it though. Sigh.

ShirleyPhallus · 04/03/2020 12:52

@Letsallscreamatthesistene that is literally how I would describe what’s been going on!!

I’m hoping at my next midwife appt she will look at me and pronounce me 7cm dilated without me even having realised it Grin

nicannie · 04/03/2020 13:02

Haha @ShirleyPhallus - I have my 39w midwife app tomorrow!

Yes def a lot of twinges down there! 😂
Are you all on maternity leave now? Do you have everything ready for the baby?

nicannie · 04/03/2020 15:48

@sjmco I started my maternity a week or so ago now and got everything ready for baby! Apart from the Pram which is still at my mums, she believes it's bad luck to be here at the house!

How about you ?

OP posts:
sjmco · 04/03/2020 16:00

Yeah I started about 2 weeks ago... struggling at home with boredom at the moment... trying to get used to all this free time.
Yeah I finished the baby's room couple weeks ago... I thought the same about the pram but my partner was like no don't believe in that, so it's at home 😳

nicannie · 04/03/2020 16:13

@sjmco that's good! I still have the final things to do in baby's room, curtain pole up and some shelves etc but everything else is done.

I'm struggling with the boredom too and feel strangely emotional the last few hours.... 😂

OP posts:
sjmco · 04/03/2020 16:24

Yeah I actually have couple shelves to put up too and that's about it.
Ahh I've been emotional the last few weeks 😂 I cry at anything! Literally anything 😂😂

Letsallscreamatthesistene · 04/03/2020 16:40

Yup, in maternity leave too! Also struggling with the boredom! Ive literally just packed hospital bags just in case (fingers crossed) he comes earlier than expected.

Ive also done some batch cooking but I have quite a tiny freezer so that outlet for boredom was exhausted quite early on, haha!

Any other boredom killers you ladies have stumbled across!?

Jesskir89 · 04/03/2020 17:05

37 plus 4 anxiously waiting. No increased discharge, in fact no signs at all here! Sweep next Thursday and currently in a bath with clary sage. Fc we meet our little ones very soon

ShirleyPhallus · 04/03/2020 17:26

I’m not on mat leave yet!! Finish at the end of this week though and can’t wait

I have felt only murderous rage last 12 hours, any chance that’s a symptom of labour?!

sjmco · 04/03/2020 17:41

@Letsallscreamatthesistene I've had my hospital bag for about a month, just incase lol
Netflix is about the only boredom killer I've come across but even that ain't much help! I have watched a whole series today! How sad!

nicannie · 05/03/2020 17:59

Well I've just had my 39w midwife app, last one as my next app will be after my due date at the hospital. I'm only 4/5 engaged, I feel slightly disappointed and now am thinking I'll definitely go over my due date and probably have to be induced!

OP posts:
ShirleyPhallus · 05/03/2020 18:28

Ah sorry to hear that @nicannie. FWIW, the midwife at my last appt couldn’t tell what bit of the baby was what and declared him not at all engaged, then decided she could maybe feel his shoulders instead and that he was 2/5. Basically totally unsure at this point!

She did say it doesn’t actually matter as babies will become engaged the second you go in to labour and the waters might be bulging a bit so when they break the baby’s head will go straight down

nicannie · 05/03/2020 18:31

@ShirleyPhallus thank you for your reply, that makes sense so I guess I'll just have to keep my fingers and toes crossed !!
