Hello everyone

I have been feeling ok so far no cramps no pain, but last night I noticed pink/red spotting on toilet paper when wipe, I still have some this morning only from wiping on toilet paper. Is this bad news? I am not really cramping or having pain and it’s definitely not got heavier? I feel bloated apart from that nothing else. Debating whether call gp surgery as it very light and not much of it but still the pinky red tinge is frightening. Thanks for any advice.

I'm 6+5 and have been having exactly the same since 5 weeks. From memory I had the same around the same time with my previous two pregnancies. I was told unless it's accompanied by cramping or pain that it is just old blood in the cervix being dislodged as things start to grow.

I had an early scan last week to check it wasn't ectopic as I'm at risk and sack and yolk were in the right place but too early for a heart beat. Go back on Tuesday for another to check heartbeat and that everything is progressing

I think light spotting is quite common in early pregnancy, I didn’t have it but a few friends did!

I wonder if it worth paying for private scan ? I don’t have a scan until 6.4.20. Far to long. Especially I have slight spotting this my first pregnancy my brain all over the place.

OP if you get pain as well call your local epu for advice.
I've had miscarriages and always had spotting with them - I also have two dc and also had spotting with them too, so basically I'm saying spotting in early pg is very very common and the chances are you will be absolutely fine Smile

Just seen your last post. My GP referred me to Early pregnancy unit with bleeding and they agreed to scan me. The other thing the GP can do is take blood - they can measure the HGC hormone over a couple of days as it should be doubling over that time.

LBB2020 · 04/03/2020 09:51

I’ve had the same, I’m 7 weeks.
I called my GP yesterday as was panicking and he has referred me to EPU (not heard from them yet)

Throughthegate · 04/03/2020 09:51

HCG, sorry

Called my gp surgery and receptionist was unhelpful. Got a number and called early pregnancy unit a midwife called me back and said as long as it not heavy bleeding with clots or severe pain it sounds ok. I got a positive test at least 3/4 weeks ago so it cannot be implantation.
I’ve to monitor it and if get worse call another number within my catchment area even though they don’t seem to reply or pick up phone, I left a voicemail. It such a worrying time and this is my first pregnancy. I just hope it’s ok

I had no spotting at all when I had missed miscarriages, just found out it had all gone tits up at the 12 week scan. My chemical pregnancy started with pink mucus but very quickly developed into bright red blood and before long clots and cramps.

I’ve had light spotting in two of my ‘successful’ pregnancies so it didn’t mean very much for me.

SheWolfofFrance · 04/03/2020 12:41

Spotting and massive bleeding in all my pregnancies. Also had 3 miscarriages but for me at least the bleeding only came as the rest of the miscarriage process started.

You could have a private scan an however at 6/7 weeks they might not be able to reassure you . There isn't a huge amount to see and if your dates are a bit off it could cause more worry than anything else

itsabitofamess · 04/03/2020 12:43

It's common. In my area you can self refer to epu and sit and wait. You are early though - there might not be much to see - I had to go back a week later.

The midwife called back and booked me in for early scan this Friday which I really grateful for.
I know my last period was 6.1.2020 last 6/7 days and my cycle length varies each month from say 35-39 days i am just confused about everything. I had got positive pregnancy test from probably early February so not a clue how far along I am.

I’ve been having cramps, and twinges in my back. Very on and off though and not severe. Think this is normal but anxious as this is my first pregnancy. Think I’m 6+5 weeks. Really nice to see what everyone else is experiencing ☺️ Xxx

Prettylittlelady · 04/03/2020 18:56

@mandy29xx good luck with the scan tomorrow I’m glad that you’ve able to get one, I’ll be 8 weeks tomorrow, last week at 7+1 I went into my EPAU because I i was seeing some pink blood when I wiped. It really wasn’t very much and then it went away but it was enough to have me very very anxious after a previous chemical pregnancy and I have also been having some back cramps. It’s a walk in and they scanned me there and then, I was able to see the heartbeat and everything looks ok for now. Some spotting and light cramps can be normal. I’m still very anxious but seeing the heartbeat gave me some reassurance and I hope that’s what you get on Friday.
