Hey everyone,

I have my test tomorrow morning at 8am. Just wondering if you have to stay in hospital for those 2 hours or if you are allowed out?

Anyone know?

I had to stay in the waiting area for 2 hours. Walking round can skew the test so wasn’t allowed to wander far.

Ah OK, thanks for replying. Was hoping to nip to work, will plan to not be able to

When I had mine, we weren't even allowed to leave the floor that we were on. Someone wanted to go downstairs to get something from their car and they weren't allowed so I definitely wouldn't plan on going to work.

applepie007 · 03/03/2020 21:43

Yep it was a very boring two hours in the waiting room!

Keyboard91 · 03/03/2020 21:44

Would be much easier if you could! Take a book/puzzle book and some headphones as is a long wait otherwise!

Word of warning, many women feel a bit rough afterwards so may be worth planning to be out for the morning. If you feel okay then of course go Straight in after the 2nd bloods, but I was very glad someone advised me of this before hand!

I work in a private hospital next door to the NHS one and they wouldn't let me go back to work even when I asked and promised I would sit at my desk

yatapina · 03/03/2020 21:48

Probably best to plan to be out as you have.

I went to work afterwards and felt rough, think it was the lack of food and double bloods.

There were a group of us sitting around in a little room - I'm totally anti social and it was really awkward 🤣

pinkpantsrock · 03/03/2020 21:51

West sussex hospitable, rocked up they took bloods, gave me vile drink and told me to
come back in 2hrs. Fine with me leaving and coming back, just as long as i didn't eat anything.

GinWeasley · 03/03/2020 23:10

Oh that all sounds much more of a pain then I expected. Could really do with not feeling rough tomorrow! Thanks all for the advice x

You def feel a bit dodge. I had what I assume was an enormous sugar crash a couple hours later & got a huge headache and general lethargy. Just felt off the whole afternoon, went to be early, all good the next day!

Megan2018 · 03/03/2020 23:18

I had the worst headache after mine, had to go home and sleep, luckily work were aware I might be out all day. I managed about 1hr of work at home.
I had to stay in the waiting room for 2hrs, you can’t get up or walk really (I went to the loo but that was it). I did some online shopping and read a few work things.
