Just a bit tearful

So a bit of a rough couple of weeks. Going to see someone about the anxiety (was just afraid of every bite I took there for a minute), but already feel that is getting better after talking to my doctor. almost 18wks now and relaxing around the whole thing and not wrapping myself up in a bubble. Now mostly tearful and tired (not depressed, just emotional!). I thought the second trimester was going to be glowy! Is there a glowy, dewy part to pregnancy (that doesn't involve tears)? I guess everyone is different...

I found the only time I got "you're glowing" comments was when I had about 10 layers of make up on. I certainly don't feel it. I'm the same, anxious, knackered, sick, napping all the time and just keen to meet my baby and not be pregnant. Hang in there, most women feel the way you do!

yeah the only time i'm glowing is in prenatal yoga! Of course, this must be so common. Love being pregnant as I can't believe the little miracle that 's happening but also can't wait for it to be over!

There is no glowing. The person who invented the 'glowing' phrase was the same person who named it 'morning' sickness.

I'm long past having babies, but OP, I never glowed. I did the opposite. I imagine I looked like a burnt-out, ashen, charcoal briquette from start to finish and I never got that 'second-trimester energy kick' so many people told me about. Knackered from start to finish with both of the boys and DD.
That said, I found my pregnancies with my boys incredibly easy, from a mental health point of view. I had antenatal and post-partum depression with my lovely and beautiful DD. I've always had some guilt over this because she's such an amazing person. But when I was pregnant with her, I really struggled with my mental health and needed a lot of support, which just wasn't the case with the boys. It's all a Hormonal Mystery me thinks.

@TheVanguardSix weird re the sex of the baby affecting you, wondering if its the same for me. I'm having a girl and really struggling emotionally and physically. I cry all the time and have depression quite a lot now. Hope it gets better when she arrives!

Do you know the sex of your baby OP?

Definitely feel similar currently 16 weeks - had bleeding since week 14 which even though baby is ok is stressing me out, I have never been so spotty hair is out of control and never felt so emotional! Like you not feeling depressed more stressed, tired and tearful x
