Hi Everyone,
I've had a bit of a scare today! I'm currently 11.5 weeks pregnant with my second pregnancy. My first one ended in a missed miscarriage late last year 😢. I was due to go for my 12 week scan this Monday but had to go for an emergency one this morning due to what happened last night! Sorry for TMI but at 3am I woke up to a gush of pale pink liquid followed by quite a lot of bright red blood like a heavy period (and a big clot later today). Obviously I was beside myself thinking it was happening all over again and the the fluid was from the baby's sack ☹️
Anyway we went to the hospital and everything on the scan was fine, strong heartbeat and wriggling around with perfect dates thank god! She said that because the placenta is starting to take over it can cause implantation bleeding around the baby and she showed me the little sack of blood where it was coming from.
At my 8 week booking appointment my midwife advised me to go on a low dose asprin because my blood pressure was a little high and so was my mams when she had me. But I didn't start taking it because I said this time I wanted to wait till after 12 weeks as last time I started it early and miscarried ( not saying it was that at all but just really worried this time around about everything! )
So my question now is will I be ok to start taking the asprin to help my blood pressure or will this thin my blood more and potentially cause another worse bleed? I've asked the midwife and they said it's fine but I was passed around abit on the phone and she didn't really explain anything very well.
I'm probably worrying over nothing but can't help it!! Anyone else been in a similar situation? Sorry for the essay, thank you! X
