So just wondering have your babies followed a slightly larger each time pattern? Mine have so far I'm hoping with a 7 year gap my body is tricked into growing a 7 and half pound like the first Grin. Although she was the longest labour I just hated the oh gosh wasn't she big.... My last wasn't I don't think anyway 8.14 but even the midwife writing down my notes this time was like she was massive Hmm.... Genuinely felt like I'd given birth to a toddler with some people's comments!!!

No my second was smaller, born at 38 weeks whereas first born at 37 weeks and weighed half a pound more. First was male though, second female.

1st - 6lb 13.5oz (40+1)
2nd - 7lb (39+6)
3rd - 7lb 1oz (39+5)

EverythingNow · 03/03/2020 03:36

1st. 8lb 11 at 42wks
2nd 8lb15 at 41+2
3rd 9lb10 at 42wks
4th 9lb 5 at induced 40wks (so would have been 10lb plus if left to 42wks.

There are 9yrs between 1&2, 17m between 2&3 and 8yrs between 3&4.

Well, DD was 8lb 6oz. Everyone looked at her, looked at me ( I’m quite a small person but not unusually so) and wondered how she ever fitted. They then saw DH and realised why she was bigger. She never fitted into Newborn size but I still think she was perfect and so tiny.

I’m pregnant with DC2 so will have to wait and see what happens. I hope not much bigger though. DH’s brother was 10lb something. 😬

It is bizarre how actually there weight doesn't always show on them....
7.6 1st

  1. 13 2nd
8.14 3rd

Yet in pictures and memory my middle looks the smallest...
But did get fed up with the how big..... OK so I could be more understanding if they were 11.6 or more but it seems its not uncommon to have babies around the 9lb mark.

DS1 10 pound 2 (41 weeks)
DS2 8 pound 5 (42 weeks)
DD 6 pound 1 (38 weeks)
I suspect DD would have been a wee bit bigger if she'd be able to stay inside for 4 more weeks😉

boringadvice · 03/03/2020 05:07

My eldest was my biggest, nearly 9lbs and looked a lot bigger than the others. I wouldn't actually consider a baby under 9lbs to be massive though!

awesmum · 03/03/2020 05:19

8lbs 1 at 41 weeks
6lbs 7 at 41 and a half weeks
7lbs 7 at 42 weeks
7lbs at 40 weeks

So all over the place weight wise.

florababy84 · 03/03/2020 05:24

#1 DS 9lbs Tall solid boy today
#2 DS 7lbs ish Tall v. slim boy today
#3 DD 8lbs ish Average girl today.

All born around 40 weeks. So in my experience it related more to their natural build as older children than birth order.

Nittersing · 03/03/2020 05:30

1st 7lb
2nd 8lb
3rd 8lb 3 oz
4th 7lb 7oz

Mine depend on which genes they ended up with. If they took after the solid and burly side of the family then they were bigger at birth.

THATscurryfungeBITCH · 03/03/2020 05:36

7lb9
8lb1
8lb6
8lb9
9lb1

Biggest gap between 2 and 3 - 3 years 11 months. All boys except 3. All born between 38+2 and 40+2.

Roselilly36 · 03/03/2020 07:23

DS1 was born the day before his due date 8lbs 11ozs

DS2 was born 10 days early 9lbs 3ozs

Alyssasbackrolls · 03/03/2020 07:29

First: On his due date 7lb 6oz
Second: Two weeks early 7lb 1oz and midwives clucking over how big he was going to be, whenever they got the tape measure out. They told me 9lb+! Even if he'd gone full term I doubt he'd have been over 7lb 6. I am quite a big girl though and wonder if that affected things Confused

ArtichokeAardvark · 03/03/2020 07:39

First: 9lbs 1oz boy. Had an ELCS at 39 weeks because the scans were predicting a whopper, but in the end he was big but not humongous (my brother was 11lbs 11oz, now that is big!)

Second: 7lbs 7oz girl. Scans showed the other extreme though and were predicting a 5lbs tiddler.

So no, your second won't necessarily be larger. And I wouldn't rely on scans either! Grin

CloMo1995 · 03/03/2020 07:42

My first: 5lb 3.5oz (32+6)
Second: 7lb 14oz (37+5)
Third: 8lb exactly (39 weeks exactly)
The age gap between my oldest and youngest is nearly 6 years, my children did get bigger, but my sisters got smaller..
Her first 8lb 3oz
Second: 6lb 7oz
Third: 6lb 3oz
Forth: 4lb 14oz
The age gap between her oldest and youngest is 9 years.

Mysocalledlifexx · 03/03/2020 11:35

5lbs 13onz
6lbs 1onz
2lbs 3onz
6lbs 5onz
5lbs 6onz
6lbs 6onz
So all my full term ones were about the same.
