Really suffering with heartburn!!! All I've had is milk but doesn't seem to be doing anything! Anything else I can take?? (Apart from gaviscon)

Go ask your GP for omeprazole so you can have a heartburn free final few weeks! I’ve been on it my whole pregnancy & only ever had dreadful heartburn when I’ve missed a dose! It’s classed as safe as paracetamol, see the NHS website.

Last pregnancy I suffered on until 35 weeks & then at a midwife appointment they told me to get straight over to my doctors & stop suffering! Best advice I was given!

Another vote for omeprazole... game changer!

Omeprazole is amazing! You can get it over the counter if desperate and you have a wait to see your GP. Game changer for me.

I went to Boots yesterday to ask for Omeprazole over the counter and they wouldn’t give it to me. Showed me the leaflet saying you need to consult with doctor/pharmacist first, and pharmacist said no? GP is not an option for me (no appointments). Any idea how I can get some Omp?
