Hi everyone,

Just wanted some advice please. I am 7 weeks 2 days. This morning when I woke up I wiped and had a brown mucous kind of discharge. I wiped a good few times before it cleared then again an hour later the same but havent noticed any for the rest of the day... I had a little yellow tinged discharge this afternoon like it had a little dry blood to it.

I havent had any cramping but am really worried as surely this cant be a good sign? I have had little twinges and pully feelings which I have been getting the whole time. Has anyone had this and had a good outcome? My doc has sent me for an early ultrasound tomorrow but I am just worrying like mad now.

Thanks x

Hey, you've done the right think getting the early scan booked in. I had this too at the same time and found conflicting stories online, good and bad. I went for an early scan and there was no reason for the bleed, baby was ok and a strong heartbeat. I asked the midwife if it was normal and she said they wouldn’t say it was “normal” as even though it can easily happen all bleeding should be checked out.

Fingers crossed for you hope your scan goes well x

Hey I had an internal - I thought it might be external but read online it could be internal so it didn’t come as a shock, the lady said I think it’s best we do this internal so I was happy to. They got a really clear image so think it’s best this early on - it also meant she could check inside and found no bleeding. They were so lovely though, I’m sure they will be for you too - she explained exactly what she was doing.

@Smartiex I had a MMC (missed miscarriage) in April and got pregnant again very quickly to mine and hubbys shock. Anyway. I started spotting brown at 6w 2d, i went to the dr she said old blood but she wanted me to have an early scan due to the MMC (missed miscarriage), she said ring them in a week if you havent heard from them. So at 7w 3d i rang them still spotting brown every wipe. I was told to come straight in to the epcu, they scanned me (abdominal) baby was fine heart beating away strong, i was delighted, went home gushed bright red blood from 6pm til 2am thought thats it baby gone or about to be, i rang the dr in the morning she said if its stopped which it had try not to worry but if it came back to ring the epcu, so the next day at 7w5d i was back in the epcu as the red bleeding had started again, another scan was done an internal this time, baby fine heart heat strong, couldn't figure where the blood was coming from. Booked me in for a scan 2 weeks later, so at 10w3d i had another scan all perfect, she said sometimes people just bleed with no explanation, i had discharge the morning of the scan but nothing after that. At exactly 12 w i went to to toilet at 6am i wipe bright red blood then nothing else. So fast forward to 14w 5d my first proper scan in the antenatal clinic. Everything perfect no bleeding since, baby fine, perfect size and heatbeat. I was given my file to bring home so i read through it turns out at the 10w3d scan she found a small sub chronic hematoma and didnt tell me, no one in the clinic told me either. 1:30 that night i went to the toilet pink blood this time, the only thing i could think is that when they put pressure on me doing a scan they made the hematoma bleed, i wish someone would have explained to me about it instead of me having to read it then try figure it out, i did think i had one as it looked like i patch on my first ever scan but was told it was nothing, I ended up back in at 15w as the bleeding caused by the scan at 14w 5d hadn't stopped but the mw who did the scan confirmed it had been a haematoma and thia seemed to be the last of the bleeding from it, it stopped that night and I have had nothing since. I'm now 36w and sitting here very heavy and uncomfortable but really excited for the next few weeks, I was told I could be having a section at 38 as baba is breech and refusing to move just happy out with there head stick in my rib. All i can say is go to ur nearest epcu if u are anyway worried. I hope it all works out for you sorry for the really long post.
