20 week scan nerves!

Hi all!
I'm looking for a bit of advice and support regarding my 20 week scan.
It's booked in for Thursday when I'll be 20 weeks exactly.
I don't know why but I'm terrified something is going to be wrong!
This is my second pregnancy, my first ended in a MMC at 10 weeks in September last year.

After every scan I relax a little then the week of the next scan I'm a nervous wreck!

I've had a 8, 12 and 16 week scan and everything was perfect with them and we found out we were having a little boy.

My bumps 'popped' in the last two weeks, and last week felt my first little flutters, although hard to tell cos I have an anterior placenta!

Does anyone have any advice on managing my nerves? Or advice on how long the scan will take and what happens if they find something wrong?

Thanks

No advice but I'm in the same situation. I have my 20wk scan next Tuesday, I'll be 20+2. I had 2 MCs last year (all IVF). I'm so nervous. I had a good scan at 16wks but I'm dreading it, I hold my breath the whole way through the scans. From what I understand it's a lengthy scan where they'll check absolutely everything. Hopefully we'll both be fine and can start enjoying our pregnancy.

Hi there, I worked in at gym/obs scans as an admin and 20w scans normally go well. If there is any under development it normally goes away on its own later on in pregnancy. I'm sure if 16w went well all is going to be fine at 20w. My mantra - don't worry about things that are not happening. Chances that everything is and going to be fine are much higher than anything going wrong. I'm 9w myself at the moment. Good luck

@LillyLeaf I hold my breath all the way through too! It's horrible when you've had previous losses, you never feel like you can fully relax!
Good luck for your scan next week!

@Viletta that's very good advice, thank you so much. I'll try not to worry until there's something to worry about Smile
