Probiotics during pregnancy?

Does anyone take probiotics during pregnancy? My digestive system is causing havoc! One minute I'm constipated the next I have diarrhoea! (Sorry TMI)

Yep! I take them every day. Kefir and probiotic yoghurt also good. X

Thanks @IslayBrigid! Some of them say to consult with a doctor first but I didn't think there was any harm in taking them! I used to take them before pregnant as I don't have the greatest digestion but feel like I definitely need them now

I didn't consult doctor as I've always taken too. The biokult ones say they are fine but yes may mention to consult doctor. I think this is just to cover their bases.
Probiotics are good for baby I am sure! There was a study done in mice linking a lack of good probiotics in the mother to autism in her offspring. Very interesting. That's enough to make me ensure I get my good bacteria!!
You could also just check with your midwife or doctor to be sure if you're worried at all x

I didn't consult but I feel very confident. Plus I need them otherwise I'm more likely to get thrush. Esp as marmite has been my morning sickness cure. No harm in consulting tho I'm sure!
Just maybe check the ones you take say it's ok.

Thanks @IslayBrigid ! Only problem with biokult for me is it contains milk and I'm vegan. Just seen some optibac ones that are suitable for both vegans and in pregnancy so I've just ordered those. You hear of constipation being a main symptom of pregnancy but never that you could get the opposite too. Oh it's a glamour life this haha!

Haha indeed! I do find keeping up the probiotics helps in the constipation/ runs department ;)
Optibac is a very good brand too! Glad you found some good ones :)

I'm vegan and use optibac all year round, including during pregnancy they're very good!
