Folic acid

I've been prescribed more folic acid by my midwife, but she also gave me 4 pots of tablets which have the 4mcg of folic acid and vitamin C and D in it.

Do you think that means I should be taking the tablets that she gave me AND the extra folic acid everyday? Or should I only be taking the 5mg tablets each day?

Maybe I should email her and ask but I don't want to start this off by seeming like a pain Confused

You will not seem like a pain, just ask her

Its a legit question, definitely ask her.

Nobody on MN can give you accurate medical advice

Definitely ask her sweets, that kind of stuff confuses me all the time!

Thank you all, I have emailed her and decided just to take the 5mg until she replies. You all have me the courage to think it wasn't a silly question Grin

If it helps I take 5mg folic acid due to epilepsy meds, and take pregnecare which also has a small amount of folic acid in. I got the all clear off my MW to take both :)

Update - I got a reply from my midwife and she said that it won't do any harm to take more. So I'll start taking both tablets from now onwards.

Thank you all for your help! Smile
