Hi everyone, I'm feeling so anxious about my second labour as my first labour was very quick!
The total time of my first labour was 44 minutes, I'm due my second child in June and my midwife has advised me that this birth will be very quick as well! she advised a home birth, could anyone give me some reassurance and let me know what your home birth experience was like? I just feel so scared that I won't be in a hospital! Has anyone else had a very fast labour? How was your second labour experience, was it just as fast or completely different? Sorry I've got so many questions I'm just so nervous 😖 thank you xx

My first was a relatively quick labour but I didn't have a home birth with my second. I wanted one but had borderline gestational diabetes (fully diet controlled) so was advised to stick with hospital birth. My labour was so quick I delivered him in A&E rather than the delivery ward. I'm 33 weeks now with my third and have been planning a home birth from the start. Luckily no GD this time round, but midwife even suggested if GD tested positive, still have home birth with possibility of transferring to hospital afterwards. I'm planning to hire a pool and just going with it. Just hoping I can fill up the pool in time! Blush

Good luck with whatever you decide to do. I just know I'm going to be a lot more comfortable and relaxed without the manic, uncomfortable car journey consisting of contractions every few minutes and no way of changing position. That wasn't a fun way to travel!
