Possible miscarriage

Hi everyone, during my early pregnancy I've experienced a bit more white creamy discharge than usual (which is totally normal I know). Anyway, I thought the same thing was happening but when I went to wipe the discharge was brown. There wasn't loads but now I'm really really worried.

I'm 5 weeks 2 days along. I did contact my GP but she wasn't very reassuring she said sometimes it's common sometimes it's miscarriage🤦🏻‍♀️ which as you can imagine hasn't filled me with hope.

Anyone got any reassurance? Or ways to calm my anxiety until my early scan

To be honest your GP is right, sometimes it’s nothing and sometimes it’s something. I had bleeding in early pregnancy (but with cramps) and I had a miscarriage, but I also again had bleeding early on the second time and I’m currently 23 weeks pregnant. I don’t want to tell you not to worry because from experience I know how horribly worrying it is!
There’s no reason to assume the worst because there is every chance things will be ok, but all you can do is try to keep busy until your scan!

When is your early scan?

@Gigitree thank you for that! My scans 11th March so not too long. I rang the early pregnancy unit and they were a lot more helpful than my GP. Said it's probably late implantation but to keep an eye on it and if it gets worse they'll send me in for a scan there.

All I can do is monitor it over the next few days and pray for the best.

I have had brown discharge progress to become bleeding and ending in miscarriage three times, but the bleeding has always started fairly quickly.

I'm 13+5 and between weeks 5 and 8 I've had several small amounts of spotting. Always just when I wipe. Luckily I was monitored fortnightly by EPU and everything was fine but my anxiety levels were through the roof.

If you're worried, if you can afford to, book a private scan and put your mind at ease.

@Gigitree thanks for checking up🥰 it was amazing! Saw my little beans heartbeat flashing away on the screen and measuring at the correct dates too. Panic over (for now at least, I'll find something new to worry about next week)😂xxx

Ahh that is amazing news! I’m so pleased for you! I remember that feeling so well it’s such a relief to see their little heartbeat blinking away isn’t it? ❤️
Haha yes I think being a parent is just one worry after another so we had better get used to it 😂
