I’m not sure if it’s actually the baby cos I have no idea what I’m feeling for 😂 but In the last few days I’ve felt a weird popping sensation in my lower belly and I’m not sure if it’s baby or maybe just gas 😂😂

Is it too early to feel them yet? When did you all first feel your baby move? Halo

With my first I was around 18 weeks and it felt like a fluttery sensation, I was very thin then (about 7st 5).

I think it would be possible at 16 weeks for a first, especially if you’re quite slim and are looking to feel movements.

Sounds spot on. I was 17 weeks with my first and it felt like pops.

I felt my first pops/flutters around 16 weeks :) I was small pre pregnancy so maybe that had an influence.

16 weeks for me too. Felt like little bubbles popping. It was much lower down than I expected.

14 weeks for me! And I am not slim - normally around a size 14 but was much heavier at that stage of my pregnancy due to IVF meds and rapid weight gain. I’m very in tune with my body and had very clear flutters, couldn’t be in any doubt, but my midwife was sceptical, probably because of my size and 14 weeks is quite early for a first baby.

For me it was 11w for first and 10w for second DC. With the second DC I had just been scanned and then felt this v weird sensation like something scurrying around. Sonography confirmed the baby was exactly where I could feel it.

This is so interesting to read. I’m also 16w and for the last 3 days have felt a weird pinching kind of feeling very low down near my bellybutton. Just thought it might be something stretching as I thought it was too soon for movements. But I am fairly slim so maybe it is the baby doing a little dance!

16 weeks 4 days with my first! Felt exactly as you describe. Midwife said it was early but perfectly possible Smile

tacosplease · 27/02/2020 13:01

I felt my first movement at 16 weeks OP - so yes, it definitely is! Smile

Nelbert19 · 27/02/2020 14:40

I was 16 weeks when I first felt mine! I also assumed it was too early, so must just be gas, but am now coming up 19 weeks and feel the same sensation most days - like bubbles

Kl129 · 27/02/2020 19:38

Thank you everyone! I am quite slim (size 8) so maybe this is little baba! So exciting Grin

Yup! I was 14 weeks. I was thin then and felt little taps top and left of my pubic mound (where you have no fat or muscle, basically). Could just feel outside if I stayed very still!

DerbyshireGirly · 27/02/2020 21:04

Definitely possible, I started feeling movements a little bit before but it was probably around 16 weeks I was confident that it was baby movements. It was just little feathery, tickley feelings at first, very low down to the right.

Enjoy, it's such a magical feeling! The sensations will change over the next few weeks and months, you'll have more definite prods and kicks, you'll be able to see and feel them from the outside, and then nearer the end you'll mainly just get swishes and rolls as they don't have room for the big movements.

Teateaandmoretea · 28/02/2020 10:00

Yes absolutely it is Smile.

Pantsomime · 28/02/2020 10:04

Yup 15 weeks for me, gentle tickle sensation with feather in groin in corner between hip and pubic bone on one side - it’s an exciting time

BertieBotts · 28/02/2020 10:05

Yes, I've felt both of mine from about 13 weeks.

chocolate26 · 28/02/2020 10:23

Yes I felt mine move at 16 weeks! And it's my first. I felt it exactly as you are describing. I'm 24 weeks now and can see my tummy move when he/she moves or kicks 😊 it's the best feeling!
