When do they offer a Stretch n Sweep?

I’m 37weeks.. I was induced at 38weeks with ds so soon to be in the land of “ive never been this pregnant”.

Struggling like mad to get about chasing a crawling ds.. but haven’t bothered with physio as they’ve said they’d only offer me crutches which with the buggy for ds wouldn’t work anyway. So I’d still only be out by taxi or car.

He’s head down, low down, always getting random painful spells of bh and loosing what looks like bits of my plug too.

When do they offer stretch n sweeps? Can I ask for one (even for my next visit)? I know they’re uncomfortable and might do faff all but maybe it’d feel like the end is near Grin

I got one at 37 +5 because I live a long way from the hospital and had a previous fast labour. I was the proverbial squeaking door though and they probably did it to shut me up. It worked and the baby arrived, very fast, two days later!

Grin Fickle... if being a squeaking door gets a head through my pelvis I’ll squeak till I get my way too.

I dilated really quick with the induction n it’s a good hour to get me to the hospital.. I’ll add that to my list of pleas. Would comically be best if I went over the weekend dm would be 10 minutes away with the car vs 40mins during the week. Obviously babies don’t particularly care about that Grin

Mu midwife told me with a 2nd baby its 41 weeks x

It's true that guidance is 41 weeks for second timers, but they'll do it if you ask! I'm 40+4 and had one two days ago, got another booked for tomorrow.

Oh feck no not 41 weeks Envy. I’ll have David Attenborough narrating me getting out the bloody bath by then Grin. Also ironically got loads of appointments for ds that week.. planned before pregnancy so you can imagine moving them might be a pain in the arse.

I’ve been offered one at 39+2 but he’s an ivf baby so not sure if tv at makes a difference

It’s 41weeks here... someone come n pull this one out of me Grin. He’s head down n turning into position so hopefully he’s bored enough n pops out for a visit before then. I think I’ll need carried in to see her by then lol.

You can get earlier ones you just need to have it cleared by a consultant. If you’re not under consultant care then you have to be referred to anc to discuss it unless they do a virtual clinic.

I'm almost 37 weeks and was booked in today for in 2 weeks time for a sweep :) if it fails I'm being induced on my due date as I've got gestational diabetes
