Could it be the start of labour?

Hello

I'm 39 + 3 and I have terrible back pain. It started at about 4.30pm, muscular at the bottom to the left? Different to any back pain I've experienced. It went off about 7.30pm, so I went for a nice relaxing bath, and it started again and even felt a little stronger. It's now a dull ache again but its constant with no rhythm to it so not sure if this could be the start of contractions or not!

Hes not back to back so wasnt really expecting pain in my back. Anyone have any ideas? I'm going to monitor it and call the delivery suite if it carrys on but just wondered if anyone had experienced similar?

Could be Braxton hicks. I had similar intermittent back pain from about 39 weeks. I went over and got induced at 41 + 5.
However it could be labour. Get one of those contraction apps and start timing them. If / when they become regular contact your midwifes.

Thanks for your reply. Just felt a lot different to what I've had before pain wise. Happened again last night but only for a hour. Got an appointment with the midwife later this morning anyway so will mention it then.
