I am a teacher and there is a confirmed case of shingles in my school. I've had chicken pox before, does anyone know if it's safe for me to still go in? The advice I'm reading online is conflicting

I've the same issue - midwife said no risk as I've had chicken pox. NHS agrees. You'll be fine!

I was in a similar position with a pupil I teach. I contacted my GP who got the hospital to check my immunity using a blood sample that they already had. Luckily I was immune already.

Someone with shingles can pass on chickenpox but only to people who haven't had it before. You can't catch shingles thankfully because it is nasty!
