I'm getting a c section on the 6th April I have packed a hoody really baggy and leggings jeans are a no no if you don't like the idea of leggings what about a maxi dress ?

sendhelpppppp · 25/02/2020 10:05

i just wore black leggings and a floaty long top

Nat6999 · 25/02/2020 10:08

I couldn't have cared less what I wore coming home, I was just glad to be escaping from hospital. I came home in the clothes I wore to go in, I didn't get home until 7.00pm in the depths of winter, nobody except my parents who drove us home saw me.

canithrottlesomeppl · 25/02/2020 10:17

Can't remember exactly what I wore but it would of been leggings or jeggings with a hoodie or baggy top. As everyone else said couldn't care less what I looked like going home I just wanted to get home and sleep!

saraclara · 25/02/2020 10:24

Unless you're posting for photos outside the hospital, a la the royal family, I wouldn't give it a single thought!

Onekidnoclue · 25/02/2020 10:31

I completely understand the brain fart! I packed a going home outfit of a nice maternity dress and flat pumps with maternity tights and a cardigan.
Made me feel like I had something planned even if it was ruined somewhat by being peed on (hair face and dress) just before we left. Oh well!
Good luck with your delivery and I hope you’re home soon. X

I wore a black stretch, wide legged jumpsuit with DC2 , I could just pull it down to breastfeed and it didn't press on my c section scar at all! I wore it loads in those first few weeks!

Lilice · 25/02/2020 11:27

I wore one of my maternity dresses

Bol87 · 25/02/2020 12:07

I still wore my maternity clothes for a good month post birth, your dungarees will fit Just fine! Your stomach takes a little while to shrink back down and you carry quite a lot of water weight post birth as well!

I was discharged from hospital at about 11pm with my first baby Confused I wore my maternity leggings & a hoody.. and then immediately changed into my PJ’s and went to bed!

Try not worry, you’ll be exhausted, sore, bleeding & a bit overwhelmed. I doubt you’ll care all that much .. you’ll just want to get back to home comforts Smile

Nowayorhighway · 25/02/2020 12:45

I think you’re overthinking it really, the paparazzi won’t be outside. Some women leave in their pyjamas and dressing gowns, I don’t really blame them. You’re only going to be seen by people in the hospital and perhaps your neighbours briefly when you exit the car and get to your door (in all likelihood they won’t see you at all!). Just wear leggings and an oversized dress or jumper like most women do.

Letsallscreamatthesistene · 25/02/2020 13:09

Im planning on dungarees. Loose, comfy and tend to wear them anyway when on-pregnant!

Heismyopendoor · 25/02/2020 13:14

Maternity dungarees wouldn’t be too big, assuming you are going home anywhere from 6 hours post birth to a few days. It’s takes a long time for everything to shrink back.

Personally I would just wear something that you have wore throughout your pregnancy, certainly no need for anything fancy. Either your vagina and vulva will be sore or if you end up in c section then your tummy will be. Or you could be one of the unlucky ones who end up with everything sore! Comfortable clothing is what you need.

I wore leggings and a long tunic top, a maxi dress and can’t remember with my first as it was so long ago.

oohnicevase · 25/02/2020 13:17

Get a really nice sweaty Betty tracksuit ot some hush harems if you want to be comfy . I hate leggings but wear joggers quite a lot !

essexanon · 25/02/2020 14:05

when are u due? I’m due July and so will go home in a black maxi dress, Havianas and a cardigan incase it’s chilly.

I don’t think I’ll even want leggings tbh. X
