Anxious before 20 week scan

I have my 20 week scan tomorrow afternoon and was really excited up until this morning when i feel so incredibly anxious - is this normal?

I am 20+1 today but haven't felt any movement or anything yet and not sure if that is what is making me so anxious as everything online and people in real life who are at similar dates all seem to have felt/ be feeling movement. Did anyone on here feel it later than 20 weeks?

I didn't feel any movements until 23 weeks.

I didnt feel anything til 21 weeks.. Its probably to do with the position of your placenta, or, that baby is not strong enough yet for you to feel it!

Friends of mine havent felt anything until 24 weeks, ao please dont worry.

Enjoy your scan!

I was 21 weeks as well so also had felt nothing at my scan! You’ll be fine xx

Thank you both for replying, that helps. All of the other threads i have read or people i have spoken to seem to have felt them weeks ago so think i just got a bit anxious for tomorrow and was just worrying

Gosh it is still early, especially if you have an anterior placenta.

MrsD0147 · 24/02/2020 13:41

I knew rationally it was still quite early think it was just a combination of everyone at work asking me if i am excited and 'have you not felt them wriggling yet' and then other people saying they had etc just making me nervous for tomorrow.

People were asking me if I had felt him move yet and I kept saying no- on the 20 week scan I saw the baby moving around lots and turning upside down etc, but I didn’t feel anything at that point, it was only because I could see it on the screen that I knew! It’ll happen soon enough don’t worry Smile

I’m currently pregnant with number 2 and everyone said you usually feel movements much earlier with your second pregnancy’s. I don’t think I felt anything at all until around 23 weeks and even then it was tiny popping type movements which even then were questionable. Now 35 weeks and being beaten from the inside and it hurts but such a great feeling Smile don’t panic it’s normal to be anxious.

Scan was perfect and i saw them flipping about everywhere! Couldn't feel a thing but she did say i had an anterior placenta which would cushion the feeling.

I am so glad to have found this thread. I have my 20 weeks scan on Monday and I am so nervous. Likewise, I haven't felt any proper movement (questionable flutters, but nothing strong). You all have put my mind at ease so much. We had a private gender scan at 17 weeks and he was rolling about like crazy. But the closer I am getting to this scan the more worried I am getting - so glad I am not the only one!
