I'm currently 38 weeks pregnant, this is my first baby. The past 36 hours I have been having on and off again cramps they are just a mild pain, but was up all last night with diarrhoea (sorry for info) and nausea, my lower back is in agony every time I lay down. And also have had a lot of discharge the past week. Is this signs of labour ? Thanks

These could well be signs that your body is starting to prepare for labour but it doesn’t necessarily mean that it’s imminent. Things can happen really gradually, over the course of a few weeks even, especially with first babies.

I know this is really unhelpful, but there isn’t really any way of knowing when it’s going to happen. You will have your baby within a matter of weeks, try to relax and take care of yourself in the meantime.

Hope it all goes really well. What an exciting time for you!

This all happened to me when I was in labour. I was pooing all the time! Really really bad back ache which I didn't realise were my contractions as baby was back to back which I also didn't realise as he turned himself around at 38 weeks
