I had my dating scan on Monday (17th) where i had the tests for the downs, edwards and Patau syndrome. I'm currently 14+4 and they said everything looked normal on the ultra sound. I haven't heard anything back yet no phone calls or letters but today I received a text message from the hospital confirming my appointment at the FMU department. I've tried to call the hospital but no one is answering. I'm not sure what this appointment is for. Do you think it's something related to mu results? I would have thought that they would have been in contact with me if there was anything wrong by now?

Hi OP, it does sound odd Confused. At my maternity unit they said they'd call within a week if there were any high risk results. Did you manage to get through on the phone?

I had this. Honestly scared the shit out of me and I just cried and cried. I convinced is was because I was high risk etc. Turned out to be for a completely unrelated reason! the Dr I saw was really perplexed as to why I was so upset until I explained and he told me that if there had been a problem they'd have told me over the phone. Please try not to worry.

Thank you both for getting back to me, no didn't manage to get through to anyone! Will try and call them first thing tomorrow morning. I'm really hoping someone would have called me if it was anything to worry about rather than just getting a text message.

When is the appointment for? Could it be for the next scan? I think it took us a couple of weeks to get a letter about the results from the 12 week scan (everything normal).

I don't know if this helps but when I went for my 20 week scan (where everything was fine), afterwards I got sent to wait somewhere to see someone else and for a blood test etc. Someone called me in and sat and asked me loads of questions but kept seeming confused about why I was there and double checking my name against a list and mentioning the consultant. Basically someone had clicked on the wrong button and put me on a high risk, need to see consultant list. After a while, the mistake was realised and I went on with my day! Just shows confusion can happen quite easily. Hope you can get hold of them tomorrow.
