Can anyone tell me stories of infected epiostomy? Recovery process?

Well aware this may seem strange and it's probably on the wrong bit of the website but I'm currently going through this and would like other people's experiences? Plus I dont really know what I'm doing on this website and cNt figure out how to post this on an after birth thread lol xx

I had one after my daughter. It was picked up when I was in complete agony on day 5 and the midwife took a swab- got 2 different types of antibiotics and they gave me voltorol for the pain which really helped as the paracetamol/ibuprofen did nothing! Used witch hazel in the bath and tea tree oil and found that very helpful. Also just tried to lie on the bed and let air get to it as much as possible.

It was really painful even after a week but did get better eventually. By 6 weeks the wound itself had headed over but was still tender for a while.
