16 week gender scan accuracy

I’m 16 weeks next week and my partner has said he’ll pay for a gender scan as we both can’t wait to find out what we’re having!

I was considering going on the actual day I will be 16 weeks, has anyone else had a scan dot on 16 weeks and it been accurate?

I’m a bit scared we go and get told it’s one gender and it turns out it’s the other if it’s a bit too early 😂 not that it matters as we will be happy either way, I just can’t wait to know so that we can pick a name!

I think it’ll feel so much more real when we can know for certain what he/she will be called ☺️

im having 1 tomorrow, my 20 week scan is the 17th March.

I was told by the private clinic I need to be 16+3, I will be 16+5 tomorrow.

im using it as a reassurance too to see the baby again and hopefully calm my nerves before the 20 week scan.

just don't go buying a pink or blue buggy before the 20 week scan so you know for sure, that's what im doing but will probably buy a couple small bits (blanket or outfit) tomorrow after the scan.

Good luck! xxxx

I had a scan bang on 16wks, we could clearly see it's a boy but took a while and some coughing to get a good view. I didn't mind if we didn't find out that day, I just wanted to know he was ok in there. I got my NIPT results a few days later which confirmed boy.

I was 16+3 and mine was 100% accurate.

Thank you everyone! @LillyLeaf @essexanon @nowayorhighway think I’m gonna go for it but wait til about mid way through 16 weeks to be sure ☺️
