Helloooooo ladies,
so I'm 7+2 with my 1st, just told my mum and dad at the weekend as they wondered why I wasnt drinking, they're thrilled for us! Anyway one of the 1st questions, have you been feeling ok? Well they've jinxed me i tell you, this morning sickness is not for me. Who even named it?! I am keeping up with the gym and I had to run out and was physically sick! I cant deal with the sick feeling constantly it's so hard to deal with, I'm usually eating well fit and healthy so this is like a real knock on the chin as I dont have any control and the thought of vegetables and salad makes me want to throw up even more.
is it normal to be this bad or am I just falling apart at 27?! Because we arent telling people just yet I feel like a massive flake as well cancelling plans and bailing on the gym and going out etc because I feel sorry for my self!
Help a sister out 😥

Morning sickness is the worst!! You have my sympathies. When I found out I was pregnant I said to my family that being pregnant wasn't an illness and I would carry on as normal with work, exercise etc. Then morning sickness hit me like a bus and I could barely function. Honestly, at this point eat what you can stomach, if that is toast and biscuits, not salad it really doesn't matter. You aren't falling apart, sadly this is pregnancy for many mums. Don't beat yourself up if you can't face the gym.

It’s horrific isnt it. You sound normal, i’m the same. Threw up as I got off the train to work on Monday- that was a new low lol! Everything tastes weird, I feel constantly sick. Even things that don’t taste weird and make me feel a little better like crackers and breadsticks are getting so boring now. Hang in there x

Bookworm83 · 21/02/2020 08:11

Are you just feeling sick or actually vomiting? My worst was 11 times in one day - after that I asked my GP for anti sickness medication which worked and helped me through the rest of the 1st semester.

MsChatterbox · 21/02/2020 08:21

Give the anti sickness wrist bands a go they were life changing for me. Went from throwing up 8 times a day every day to maybe only once or twice and not feeling too sick in between. If that fails then speak to your GP! At one point before the bands I didn't even keep water down over an entire weekend! Crackers and cheese, Fanta and Pickled onion monster munch really helped me through some rough patches!

HollyBollyBooBoo · 21/02/2020 08:23

It's horrific isn't it and sadly very little that can be done about it. Be kind to yourself, don't push it.

Whistle73 · 21/02/2020 08:46

What helped me was to peel a piece of fresh ginger and put it into my mouth and keep it there as long as possible - like chewing gum or a cough sweet. The constant ginger hit really helped massively.

caffeinefix · 21/02/2020 08:49

I feel you - currently have the same. I find the antisickness travel bands work well, prawn cocktail crisps and fizzy orange. I had this with DS and once I got to 12 weeks it disappeared. I am counting the next 4 weeks down!

Beau2020 · 21/02/2020 08:52

Aww bless you! I'm 27 too FTM! My morning sickness didn't ease until 14 weeks. I'm 16 now so I'm enjoying feeling slightly better. I still feel queasy and nasty sick taste in my mouth but I'm only sick once or twice a week now compared to 4 times per day! The 1st trimester is horrendous and I completely sympathise. Honestly don't keep up with the gym if you don't feel up to it and eat what you can!

Ourfamily · 21/02/2020 08:55

It is horrible Sad I had it from around 8 weeks up until now and I'm almost 20 weeks! I was unfortunately sick almost every morning which was horrid but it does get better! Today is day 5 without being sick woohooo!!!! Speak to your midwife if it's really bad and she can advise you on what's best Smile fingers crossed for a speedy finish to the sickness!

Bubble29 · 21/02/2020 08:57

This is totally normal. I'm currently 9+2 and haven't been able to keep up my gym routine. Pre pregnancy I trained 6 days a week and hit 10,000 steps a day, but since week 6 when my symptoms hit me I've probably been to the gym less than 10 times and done half my step count a day. when I have tried to train I've lasted about 30 minutes as I'm so out of breath and then feel sick.

I'm on half term and still haven't been to the gym. Finally got some sickness tablets from the doctor which have been a game changer! Discovered I'm having twins so feel this explains why I feel so rough.

Take it easy! I have started to follow some pregnancy accounts on IG whereby I attempt the sessions from home, I feel less guilty and pressure that way but not going to the gym. I just miss the endorphins exercise gives me and I feel a right grump at the moment.

It helps to keep eating if you can - although I know the nausea makes you not feel like eating. I found if I let myself get too hungry, I'd start retching. And I think once you start retching, it can then be difficult to keep something down, which then in turn leads to more retching, which ends you up in hospital on a drip!! Just keep trying to eat little things - crackers, a bit of yoghurt, etc., all day. The reason people are sick in the morning commonly is because they've not eaten all night.

Jg93x · 21/02/2020 09:13

I feel you Sad I’m 26 and pregnant with my first and I’ve had awful sickness for 11 weeks now, and ended up being hospitalised on Tuesday after hitting a personal record of vomiting 15 times in 12 hours Hmm

I found earlier in my pregnancy that eating bland carbs like potato and bread and pasta etc really helped, my diet went totally out the window as I physically couldn’t stomach anything else.

As long as you’re eating something it’s better than nothing at all is the way I try to see it! It helped me to eat as soon as I woke up and as soon as I felt sickness start coming on too. I kept a bag of crisps by my side 24/7 just in case 😂

cliffdiver · 21/02/2020 09:18

I used to set my alarm 15 minutes early and eat a Rich Tea / Gingernut biscuit lying down in bed before I got up.

Sipping tepid ginger tea throughout the day.

You have my sympathies - pregnancy sickness is awful.

Kezmum14 · 21/02/2020 09:23

I’m currently 20 weeks and have just been sick.... it’s every other day for me at the moment but was constant until about 17 weeks. I’m only ever sick 3/4 times a day but I feel sick until mid afternoon. It’s awful 😢

HumphreyCobblers · 21/02/2020 09:27

It is vile. I couldn’t lift my head up with ds3.

Littlegoth · 21/02/2020 09:30

So glad it’s not just me! I’m struggling with awful morning sickness. Feeling ungrateful when I complain as it comes after 3 miscarriages but my goodness it’s bloody hard work 😩!

Ohfrigginghellers · 21/02/2020 09:30

I was prescribed Avomine tablets which you can actually buy over the counter for travel sickness. It didn't eliminate it but helped to ease it.

Ohfrigginghellers · 21/02/2020 09:32

I actually would rather go through labour than that sickness again

Spark27 · 21/02/2020 10:24

I'm with you. 8w 4d today and this week has been terrible. I've had to speak to the GP to get signed off work for a few weeks. I'm not being sick but the nausea is horrendous. I cant be on my feet for longer than 5 mins, I can only eat very little and it has to be bland, cold and often. I think the lack of nutrients has led to be being rundown- had a coldsore and now got a mouth ulcer.

I didn't have any of this with my DD 3 years ago. Just shows all pregnancies are different. Fingers crossed we all feel a bit better soon

B0220s · 21/02/2020 10:45

I'm 12 weeks on Sunday, and so I'll.
I can't eat or drink before 4pm or I am floored all day and all night, I can't eat more than plain foods, mash, toast, plain pasta, I've gone off everything everything makes me feel so poorly 😷
Even sipping water/juice is a game ender for me so I just have to ride with it or my symptoms are so much worse.
I'm absolutely terrified it's not going to end anytime soon, I am exhausted and so sick of feeling/ being sick.
I've had this for a solid 7 weeks now and it's definitely torture.
26 and first baby pregnant previously but ended in miscarriage and surprisingly my sickness was even worse last time 🤦🏽‍♀️
12 week scan Tuesday so after that I. May head to the drs for some tablets to help been nervous to do so before because of previous miscarriage xx
