What do I need to avoid at a spa?

I’m 31+2 weeks pregnant and I’ve booked a spa break with my DP for this weekend. Just wondering what’s off limits as I’m reading different things online? We get one treatment each and I’ve selected a facial because they didn’t offer a pregnancy massage and we get full use of the leisure facilities. We also get dinner and breakfast included so it’s a great deal for £180 at a nice hotel and for a double room too, so really looking forward to going but don’t want to spoil my time worrying!

Hi,

Sounds amazing, we got a very similar deal when I was 36 weeks. I too had a facial rather than a massage, just remember to ask them to raise the bed up a bit so you're not laid flat on your back.

I was fine in the swimming pool and general use areas, I just didn't use any of the saunas, hot tub or steam areas but that's down to what you feel happy doing, I definitely wouldn't go in them for very long at all in case of overheating or making yourself feel dehydrated.

Otherwise just enjoy and avoid anything the NHS says you shouldn't eat but that's no different to being at home

Spent the afternoon in a nice spa with thermal suite on Sunday. Their guidance was no hot tub, sauna or steam.
The reasoning is in case you over heat or faint.
As long as you know your limits and don’t spend too long in each then it’s fine.
I enjoyed every bit just for a bit less time than normal.

When we went to a spa a few months ago, I avoided the sauna and steam room. However when my husband got in the hot tub/jacuzzi I just sat on the edge with my feet in for a little while.

Hope you have a lovely time
