Deep red mucus plug - is this normal?

Had a sweep this morning (40+11) due to be induced tomorrow. I lost a fair bit of fresh blood and midwife monitored me and baby before she left because baby’s heart took a dip!
I stopped bleeding but have had pinky tissues since every time I have wiped... which I think is normal?

Just went to the loo and on the the tissue was only what I can describe as a deep red clot, not fresh blood definitely more mucus-like than blood!
It’s the colour that’s thrown me, but if i have been bleeding fresh blood earlier then maybe that’s why it’s so dark?
Or should I call my midwife??

Definitely call the midwife. I’d insist to get checked too. Hope all is well x

Call your midwife now, or go in. Better to be on the safe side.

After my sweep at 37 weeks I had a lot of dark blood, mucus like.
I went in to maternity unit as I was also having regular contractions- I was 7cm when I got in!
When I rang them they said they couldn’t say if it was normal or not so to go in.
I’d go in, worse case they will just induce you tonight rather than tomorrow morning. So you will be in the right place!

I also wouldn’t ring your midwife, I’d ring maternity triage
