Aspirin question

Hi
So when I went to my 12 week appointment had tonsee doctor and was put on a low dose of Aspirin as I had the start of pre eclampsia with my 1st child (this is number 3) however I've also had horrendous sickness up until a week or so ago so I haven't really taken the aspirin maybe just once or twice as every time I took it I was sick (not saying aspirin caused sickness but just sick most days) I am now 22 weeks pregnant. Is it too late for me to start taking the aspirin now or should I wait til i next see my midwife to ask her. Had 't mentioned it before now because at the time i thought the sickness would end around 12 weeks then if I'm honest I just forgot about it.

I was only prescribed it at my 20 week appointment so I'd say it's not too late to start taking it, I think it's just supposed to be more effective if you start earlier. I think you can ring the midwife to ask rather than waiting for your next face to face appointment.

Thanks for your reply. Trying to get hold of my midwife is a nightmare I have an appointment with her in just under 2 weeks though so not long to wait. When I had my second child even though the doctors and midwife were aware I had the start of PE with my first child they never prescribed aspirin or anything and I was fine. I'll just mention it when I see the midwife and see what she suggests x

Just start taking it now, it'll be fine! Just mention it at your next appointment Smile
