Mirena IUD

after my 2 babies I decided to get a IUD I had the merina coil put in 7 months ago.
Recently having sex has been pretty painful especially afterwards. I’ve always had a period with it but this month it’s 3 weeks late. I thought maybe this was because most people don’t get periods after a few months with the merina. I had spotting with my second baby and Last week I had the exact same and have been very tired and nauseas. I’m not sure weather it’s down to hormones but today I’m having really strong cramps in my ovaries and I’m not near my cycle.
I had all this with my second baby but the coil definitely hasn’t come out I’m sure I would have felt it or seen it if it has. I’ve heard of people getting pregnant but apparently it’s so rare.

Wondered if anyone had any ideas ? Tia x

The mirena has completely stopped my periods. I’ve had it twice and it’s been the same both times. Saying that in the first year or two I did have occasional very light spotting so sounds similar!

Like I say, it has stopped my periods but I did still get pms symptoms every months. Cramps, spots, feeling meh..

The first time I had the mirena was after having my first son and the symptoms were pretty bad. At times I convinced myself I was pregnant as it felt frighteningly similar to early pregnancy symptoms but I was not. I was told the mirena can mimic early pregnancy signs. This hasn’t been as bad with my current one.

Pregnancy with the cook is extremely rare as it’s very effective but impossible!
