40 weeks today. Midwife said I was 1cm dilated and head was in position.

Likelihood of anything happening over the next few days in your experience? 🤔

This happened to me on a Tuesday and I had my baby the next Saturday.
Some people I know it was quicker though!

Also 40 weeks and also having a sweep today.
First so no experience but just wanted to wish you luck and hope you have your baby soon 🤞

I had one last Thursday at 40+1 - baby head fully engaged, cervix soft and stretchy and I was 2cm dilated. I was very favourable apparently, however, I am still pregnant today at 41 weeks unfortunately! Booked in for another sweep tomorrow.

Basically try not to think about it - it may work but don't be disappointed if it doesn't. It seems they don't work more often than they do unfortunately.

The sweep worked for me all three times, I was also always 1cm dilated at the time of the sweep. I went into labour within 24 hours.

Fingers crossed for everyone!

I am having some period like achy pains now and wondering if this is the start of something 🤔

I've had a few sweeps in my time and always have 12 hours or so afterwards where it feels like something's happening...and then it doesn't! Never seem to work for me but I hope you'll be different!

I had a sweep at 39w and baby was born next day.

I had a sweep at 40 weeks and over 1cm dilated. Had periody pains and bit of blood/mucus.
Had two more sweeps at 41 and 42 weeks, ended up induced 😂 hope it works for you!

If you can go for a long walk!

I had a sweep at 40+6 was 2cm baby arrived 40+10

I was 3cm dilated at 40 weeks - had 4 sweeps in total, had pains and contractions after every sweep. Baby arrived at 42 weeks, natural labour. Good luck - I hope he/she doesn't make you wait too much longer Smile

I was 2-3cm, could stretch to 4cm, waters bulging, this was at 40 weeks. Went into labour at 40+5. My friend had an attempted sweep on her due date, cervix was still high, not dilated at all, midwife said she'd more than likely have to be induced at 42 weeks, but her waters went to following day and her DS was born within 8 hours of that, so unfortunately it's one of those things where it could go either way 🤷 hope you aren't kept waiting too long

I had a sweep at 40 weeks.. I went into labour within 3 hours! I was 2 cms for about a week before labour.

Just my experience. Good luck and all the best for labour and the arrival :)
