so, you got your csection? great.....

i like lucy, erin and poppy

or wait until she is born, and see which name suits her

slayerette · 04/09/2007 16:39

Megan and Lucy are lovely. Nothing against the others but those two are definitely my favourite. Erin is unusual so less likely to have lots in her class later on! Molly - lovely for a little girl but not so sure what it's like when you're grown up. Happy to be corrected by any Mollys out there!

primigravida · 04/09/2007 16:42

I love Sophie, I would be calling my baby that if he was going to be a girl. Hope everything goes well on wed afternoon.

Jackstini · 04/09/2007 16:44

I like all of them although am not as keen on Lucy as I know a lot of them (like 6 among close friends!) so she may find more girls sharing her name with this one.
Hard to say without knowing the surname - you could do a 'sounds like?'

fifisworld · 04/09/2007 16:44

I like lucy and erin, i think they are names that are nice regardless of any age.

MrsBadger · 04/09/2007 16:44

Sophie was on our list (along with Rachel, Alice and Zoe), and Lucy would have been had there not been one in the family already.

Agree Molly and Poppy have less gravitas.

hayley2u · 04/09/2007 16:44

well all through pregnancy it was lucy, but seriously change mind now.
i am edging more to erin but so not sure, why is it so complicated lol

fifisworld · 04/09/2007 16:45

You couls use them both, have one as a middle name?

hayley2u · 04/09/2007 16:45

surname lawrenson

fifisworld · 04/09/2007 16:46

erin lucy?????

MrsBadger · 04/09/2007 16:52

I just can't do names that begin with same letter as surname, so would say Sophie.

heifer · 04/09/2007 16:58

from your list I would pick Imogen

was about to agree with Mrs Badger re double initial, then realised that DD has... doh...

unknownrebelbang · 04/09/2007 16:59

My fave is Poppy, but nothing wrong wtih any of the names.

Sophie sounds really good with your surname.

LaDiDaDi · 04/09/2007 17:14

I like Lucy but tbh I don't think it works with your surname. The same goes for Imogen which I love Megan and Erin.

I think that Sophie is a lovely name that works for a child and an adult and sounds great with your surname.

treacletart · 04/09/2007 18:00

We chose Imogen for DD 4weeks ago. Very surprised at the many people of my parents generation who think its really "unusual" or "different". I think its very elegant. However, from your list I'd say Sophie (also lovely) works best with your surname.

cece · 04/09/2007 18:09

I think Megan or Sophie go best with your last name.

But I like them all. Not sure if Molly sounds right with you last name - too many LLLLLs

sugar34plum · 04/09/2007 18:20

megan but biased and dd2 name also love erin. good luck with c section.

belgo · 04/09/2007 18:28

Imogen or Megan

pooka · 04/09/2007 18:30

Lucy, but am biased
I haven't come across any other Lucy's yet round here. A lot depends on where you live I think. Not that it'd bother me if I did.

Aero · 04/09/2007 18:41

Well, dd is Erin, so it's an obviouse choice for me and goes well with your surname. Ever since I watched 'The Waltons' as a child 'Erin' was top of my girls names list and when dd was born, dh went and phoned everyone to tell them Erin was born. I didn't have a chance to change my mind no matter whether it suited her or notlol! Luckily, it suits her just fine and she loves it too.

From your list though, I also love Imogen, but don't think it fits so well with your surname. I like all your choices really, but I prefer to use less popular (though never unheard of) names.

TellusMater · 04/09/2007 18:47

Soren...

belgo · 04/09/2007 18:51

lol tellus

flightattendant · 04/09/2007 19:01

Molly would be a tongue twister! Imogen has 3 syllables, so does surname - too long.
Sophie is great, Poppy too or Lucy, Erin is a bit too like the 'lawren' sound...Megan is Ok with surname.

Say them all out loud, it makes it easier!
